Not sure if this is the right way to go here but are they gonna bring in smarter kids too?

That's one step in the right direction.

However - if we REALLY wanted to make it count - pay teachers like athletes.......

Amazing that America pays it professional athletes on such a scale but the people we entrust to teach our childern are paid pennies in comparison.  We'd rather be entertained than educated.

No wonder the rest of the world thinks we're retarded.....

I agree but (<--- big BUTT here) that's just part of our American culture to have people with physical talents perform for "us" the way the gladiators fought each other to the death for their monarchs and fellow countrymen in ancient Rome and the same way the competitors in the Olympics do to this day.

I wish we could pump more money into public education but one has to wonder would the public respond favorably to it.

Segregation used to be a part of "our American culture"

At some point, SOME things MUST change.

I agree a change is needed.

I also think that our priorities have to change, not just in the so-called black community but throughout America.  Right now American tell their kids to stay in school and get a good education but also 'hard code" at least 2 to 3 hours of mind-numbing television because we don't want to hurt their precious little feelings.

$#IT flows downstream...  How competent is the school's administrator?

It seems fishy to to me that the whole school has a poor performance rate and they only fire teachers.

Are you kidding me??!!  That's MANAGEMENT in action, Yo.  Mgmt ALWAYS blame its workers.

Look at it this way if this school system were a giant row boat filled with people in the middle of the ocean struggling to get to a new world, management would through the sickest looking rowers overboard once they've passed out and then turn around and tell the remaining ones to row faster to make up for the lost.

OMG!!!!!

ROFL!

Every time they lay somebody off here I think about Ben Hur when the Roman told the galley slaves "We keep you alive to serve this ship.  So row well and live."

Definitely inspiration to do your work...

For real.

I know it's crazy right but that's exactly how they [mgmt] view the workers sometimes, like they're all just living to do nothing but row "that boat" around all day like their lives depended upon it.  Meanwhile, they huddle up together to make snide comments and cutting jabs at  the workers to taunt and tease, but disguise them as performance enhancements and motivational support.
